How it works
From first message to first day off your plate.
Two weeks to start. Three months to hand your work over properly. Here is both.
Getting started
Four steps. Two weeks.
You tell us what needs doing
A short form, not a sales call. The work, the hours, the tools. Five minutes, and you see a price at the end.
We find you the right person
A person reads your brief and picks two or three who fit, with a reason for each. Not software. Three to five days.
You meet them
Half an hour with each. No cost, no pressure. If none land, we go back and find more. You pay nothing until you choose.
They train before they start
Your assistant spends days learning your software, your customers, your preferences. We pay for that. Your first invoice starts on their first working day.
The first 90 days
We hand work over one piece at a time
Most of these arrangements fail because everything lands on day one. We do the opposite. Each area is handed over before the next begins.
| When | What your assistant takes on | What you get back |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Your calendar. Booking, moving, protecting your focus time | No more scheduling ping pong |
| Weeks 2 to 3 | Your inbox. Sorting, filing, drafting replies for you to approve | Around five hours a week |
| Weeks 4 to 6 | Meetings. Agendas beforehand, notes during, actions chased afterwards | Nothing agreed in a meeting gets forgotten |
| Weeks 7 to 9 | Travel and bookings. Flights, hotels, cars, itineraries, receipts | Trips that organise themselves |
| Weeks 10 to 12 | Writing in your voice. Replies and drafts that sound like you | Your assistant can answer for you |
| After 90 days | Whatever you want next. Projects, research, personal admin, supplier chasing | A second pair of hands you trust |
The default plan. If your work looks different, your manager rewrites it with you in week one.
Week to week
The rhythm that keeps it working
Every morning
A short check-in
Ten minutes. What is on, what is blocked, what needs you. Most clients do this in chat.
Every Friday
A written wrap-up
What got done, what is open, what is next. You get it whether you asked or not.
Every month
A call with your manager
Not your assistant. The person who manages them. Say what is working and what is not, without the awkwardness.
If something goes wrong
What happens when it is not working
Sometimes a match is wrong. Nobody’s fault, and it happens.
Tell your manager. In the first 30 days we replace them at no cost, and the new assistant starts with everything the last one learned. You are not starting again.
After 30 days, any time there is a good reason. We try to fix the problem first, because swapping people costs you context.
One thing worth being straight about. We are a young company and we cannot pay an assistant between placements. If a match ends through no fault of theirs, it does not touch their rating and they go to the front of the queue for the next opening, but they are not earning in the gap. We would rather tell you that than imply otherwise.
Have a need? aVAssist.
Five minutes to tell us. Two weeks to meet the person who will do it.
